Humidity: Obtaining the Perfect Moisture Level

HumidityHumidity can be a drag, but even more importantly, it can have a big impact on the quality of the air in your home and your home comfort levels. The United States Environmental Protection Agency suggests families sustain proper humidity levels, saying it is an important and simple way that you can improve your indoor air quality.

As it turns out, you have control.

The best thing to do is to install a whole-house humidifier and dehumidifier system. Humidity levels in the range of 35% and 50% are preferred for comfort, experts say. But if you want an environment without microbes and that won’t damage wood, the humidity levels will need to be kept between 45% and 50%. Humidity needs to be balanced properly to make sure your home has the right amount.

  • This humidity control chart shows how different types of humidifiers impact the features availableHigher Levels of Moisture – Air may feel stuffy and warmer than the actual temperature in your home and can provide the strongest groundwork for the growth of bacteria and other pollutants.
  • Lower Levels of Moisture – Your body may react by developing dry skin, sore throats and respiratory issues. Dry air can also harm your wooden home furnishings, such as floors, paneling and furniture.

Our techncians can offer a complete offering of quality equipment, and combined with our expert advice and knowledge, will help you maintain proper humidity levels, relax comfortably in your home and breathe easier.
